Ava Max says stage invader scratched her eye during LA concert
Singer Ava Max said a spectator "slapped me so hard" during a show in Los Angeles that he "scratched the inside of my eye".
Videos posted online apparently showed a man slapping the American pop star in the face during his performance.
Footage shows Max flinching and holding his eye after being punched.
After the show, the singer tweeted, "He slapped me so hard he scratched the inside of my eye. He'll never go back to a show again."
She added, "Thank you to the fans who were spectacular in LA tonight!!"
The 29-year-old singer was performing at the Fonda Theater on Tuesday when she was hit.
It comes days after pop star Bebe Rexha suffered facial injuries after an audience threw a phone at her on stage in New York.
Max was almost at the end of her show when she was hit and left the stage shortly after. She wore sunglasses when meeting fans after the show.
Joel Rangel, 30, from Tucson, Arizona, who captured the moment on video, told the PA news agency: "She ended the show with her song The Motto and a fan just ran and jumped on the left side of the stage."
"As he jumped onto the stage, some lights fell to the ground and he ran towards Ava with his arms spread wide as if to hug her.
"But security ran and grabbed her, and when they did, she just turned around and reached out with her arm and slapped her in the face."
Mr. Rangel, who said he flew to Los Angeles for the concert, added: "Also, they almost canceled the meeting because of the situation."
"She had to wear sunglasses and was confused and dizzy so it was sad to have to talk to her like that."
Another fan, Cory Larrabee, tweeted: "The security guard attacked him and literally threw him down the stairs. Wild!!! It was so quick.”
The singer, whose real name is Amanda Ava Koci, rose to fame with her 2018 single "Sweet But Psycho," and has since enjoyed chart success with "Kings & Queens," "Salt," and "My Head & My Heart." “.
Her debut studio album Heaven & Hell peaked at number two in the UK in 2020 and earlier in the year she released her second album Diamonds & Dancefloors.
